I began applying for the Peace Corps in January of 2009. I had an interview soon thereafter, and was nominated in March for an environmental education program in South America. However, due to the length of the medical clearance process, I missed that placement date. In the fall of 2009, I was finally medically cleared, and renominated for a health-sanitation services program in Paraguay. I was invited to serve there in mid-December, and accepted just after Christmas.
In a few days, I'm Paraguay-bound!
